photo of the week
Week of May 25, 2026
This week's photos feature our spring carnival at our 178 site.
On Friday, April 24th, P596X held our spring carnival in the P178X school yard.
Our carnival was a great way to end our Autism and Neurodiversity Week celebration!
Parents, students and staff were all invited to this fun event which included games, fun slides, cotton candy, music, face painting and Elliot the clown!
Our carnival is always a very popular event and a great way to have a lot of fun!

Former P596X student Joliah Ceda drew and created our school logo.
WELCOME
Welcome to P.S. 596X! We are a district 75 New York City Public School serving students on the autism spectrum and other special needs from Pre-K through age 11 in three co-located sites: 11X178, 11X153 and 11X498.
Through this website, you will be able to step into our classrooms and hallways to get an idea of the wide variety of creative programs and practices in which students participate on a daily basis.
Our commitment is to provide the highest quality, state of the art instructional programs to our students, and to offer parents workshops and activities to equip themselves with the skills to best help their child. Through hands-on learning and fun-filled opportunities, our students make tremendous gains in social skills, language, and academics.
