Best Buddies Celebration Video
Our students came together through a Best Buddies program consisting of students with autism (grades 3-5) and their 4th grade general education peers, to create a collage based on their responses to the questions; "What are you passionate about?", "What do you care about?", and "What is important to you?"
The artistic expression from our students is a compilation of colorful artwork on tiles in which they represented ideas and solutions to topics consisting of homelessness, extinction of animals, pollution on the planet, inequality and recycling. The collage of tiles was completed using various art tools; markers, crayons, glitter pens and paint. Twenty- four students worked in groups of two to create twelve pieces of tiles to showcase their ideas and passions as one entire group. The collaborative work product is a true expression of art in which our students identify pertinent issues on our planet, give possible solutions, and exhibit their young hope for the world.
